              AD By His Holiness Pope Paul VI, the successor of Saint Peter, the great disciple of Jesus Christ, who visited Sri Lanka for the first time on December 4, 1971 Katana Halpe by Divulapitiya Constituency Member Mr. Lakshman Jayakodi, who served as the Minister of Culture and Religious Affairs at the time, with the donation of US$200, which is the financial gift given to Sri Lanka This school was built in 61/E Gramaseva domain and was inaugurated by His Excellency Carlo Curie Agrarajyaguru Prasadeen, who was the Roman Ambassador to Sri Lanka at that time. On January 17, 1973, this school was established for the educational as well as social development of the children of Deya.   I am extremely happy and privileged to be a part of the historic opening ceremony of Pope Paul VI College, Katana Halpe today. This new College was founded by Deputy Minister of Education B.Y. The National Flag will be opened by Mr. Kudaway by opening a commemorative board by the representative of the Divulapitiya Rajya Sabha, Deputy Minister for State Security and Foreign Affairs Mr. Lakshman Jayakkodi, and the college flag will be unveiled by Gampaha regional director of education D.G. By the hand of Mr. Welikala, Wasavina. The college grounds and buildings were built by the Most Reverend Theologian Thomas B. Blessed by Cardinal Currey. Education Minister B.Y. Mr. Kudawe, Cardinal Thomas Kure, Ambassador of Rome to Sri Lanka His Excellency  Archbishop Athum Carlo Kasuri  , Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Education K.H.M. Mr. and Divulapitiya Rajya Sabha representative Mr. Lakshman Jayakodi showed a lamp. At that time, Reverend Bola Gala Abhinavaramadhipati. Swamipada Jayawansa and Swamipada Upper Madampella conducted a wedding pirith discourse. His Highness and Gampaha PRA.A.A. D.G. Mr. Welikala planted six orange trees on the school grounds to commemorate this historic day.
                 His Holiness Pope Paul VI had made a donation of two thousand five hundred dollars for the construction of a pusta time and a gandhara tower in this college, but at the same time, the Roman Ambassador to Sri Lanka His Excellency archbishop Carlo Kasuri and the Additional Secretary of Education K.H.M. It was done by Mr. Sumathipala.

Handing over appointment documents to Mr. Costa and teaching staff and Adimulla Vidyalaya, Adimulla Girls Junior College, Lower Madampella Maha Vidyalaya, Kongodamulla Junior College, which are considered to be from the clan of the fed school of this college. Gampaha Regional Director of Education D.P. has registered the names of Shirsha students who were the first to join the sixth grade of the schools of Nakene Hira Kaluappuwa Junior College.                  Among the distinguished dignitaries who participated in this event were Mattakkuliya Mi Sam Governor, Hon. Fr. Antony , Hon. Fr. Aba Costa, Hon. Fr. Clinton Anandappa, Hon, Fr. Bensiri Perera, Kimbulapitiya Parish  Governor, Hon. Fr.Cham, Padilla  secretary of the Roman Ambassador, and the Gampaha Agriculture Ministry of Agriculture. mr.  Wijesinghe, Katana Ma.A.5.P. Mr. Wickramasinghe, Minuwangoda I am a.n.i.p. Mr. Chandrapala Jayasinghe were the officers.
                 On 17.09.1972, the foundation stone of these buildings was laid by Chatuma's brother Mr. Norada Jayakodi on behalf of Divulapitiya Rajya Sabha representative Mr. Lakshman Jayakodi. Gampaha P.A.A. It is because of the hard work of the officers and employees of the building department. So far, the Ministry of Education has spent 50,000 rupees for the land, 55,000 rupees for the buildings and 28,000 rupees for the furniture
                 On behalf of the Ministry of Education, I would like to thank Mr. Lakshman Jayakodi, the Rajya Sabha representative of Divulapitiya, who first brought up the idea that such a high science center should be built in this area, many teachers and students, the teachers of this college, and all the provincial residents who helped to implement that idea...
                 I sincerely hope that in the near future, a group of brave countrymen will be born from this school who will try to implement it without being a burden to the country and appreciate living without touching others.
